Employing Craps Strategies

Like most other casino games that combine skill with chance, there are dozens of craps strategies designed to help players win more frequently. Before using them, however, there are some things that players must keep in mind.

Controlling the Outcome

There are some strategies available on the internet and for purchase that claim to 'guarantee' wins for a player. This is certainly tempting, but savvy players should know better. Craps is a game of chance and there is absolutely no player control over the way the dice land. The only choices a player can make during the game are predictions as to the way the dice will land. All of the good strategies admit that there is no way to guarantee a win.

Betting Strategies

One of the best ways for players to have some form of control over their craps playing is to devise a betting strategy that fits their budgets. For instance, if a player only has $20.00 to spend, they should find a craps table that has a low limit and bet a small amount per roll. Some strategies state that players should raise their bets by a single unit after a loss and drop them by a unit or more after a win, though some players choose to use the reverse strategy.

Bet Safely and Don't Cheat

Some craps players have resorted to cheating in the past, whether this means palming the dice in hopes of a certain result or even exchanging the dice for faked ones at some point during their turn. This is very dangerous as it can get players kicked out of the casino and sometimes even leads to jail time. The best way to win at craps is to place safe bets according to the budget. Pass Line and Don't Pass bets pay even money, but the odds of winning are relatively high.

Players should never assume that a strategy is sound just because they find it on the internet. In fact, many of them are not even tested and may even get players into trouble.
